Las Dalias Hippy Market - Night Market




Las Dalias is a must visit place of interest on the White Isle. Located close to San Carlos village towards the northeast of Ibiza is the hippy market that has become a bit of an institution on the island. It may be a bit of a cliche but this is more than just a market, with music, food and drink...it's more a way of life, and offers locals & visitors a chance to meander around the many stalls selling clothes, jewellery, art and general "nick-nacks" to help you celebrate and remember your time in Ibiza. You can also enjoy a massage or experience a Tarot reading

Om Monday 4th June 2018 was the opening of the night market, so, if like me you prefer to be on the beach during the day or sitting in a restaurant enjoying some amazing sea food, then the night market is a great idea, and also Las Dalias by light just feels that much more romantic.

And when you've had enough of walking around the stalls, make your way to one of the bars and enjoy some live music, or grab a bite to eat.

It's a totally unique Ibiza experience

And if you want to keep the hippy feeling going then Monday is Flower Power at Pacha in Ibiza Town, so head to the market for the evening and then make your way to Pacha until the early hours

The night market is various nights through the summer staring from 7pm until 1am
There is plenty of parking available at €3.50

Ibiza Public Holidays (part one) - 5th August The public holiday in Ibiza on the 5 th August is celebrated every year and is known by a few names including: Santa Maria de las Nieves or Nuestra Senora de las Nieves (which translates as “Our Lady of the Snow”, which is interesting as there is not much snow in Ibiza!). Santa Maria is the Patron Saint of Ibiza.   The festivities continue until the 8 th August, although the main festivities are on the 5 th which culminates in a firework display. And the reason for this celebration? well it doesn’t take much to start a fiesta in Ibiza and the reason for this one is to commemorate August 8 th 1235 (that is the year not the 25 minutes to 1) when Ibiza was conquered by the Kingdom of Aragon, previously occupied by the Muslim leadership. The site of the cathedral in Ibiza Town (at the top of the Dalt Vila ) was once where a Muslim mosque stood nearly 800 years ago. Many activities in Ibiza Town are based around Parque Reina Sofia
