Ibiza Opening Party Weekend 23rd to 26th May 2013

Whilst some venues, such as Blue Marlin and Santos Ibiza Coast Suites, have already hosted their own opening parties officially this weekend, 23rd May to 26th May is when Ibiza 2013 really starts - It's time to throw some shapes.

The International Music Festival (IMS) takes place at the Ibiza Gran, opening with Fat Boy Slim playing at the stunning UNESCO heitage site Dalt Vila on 23rd May.

Pacha opens on Wednesday 22nd May with their "Wisdom of the Glove" night, Thursday 23rd May is the "Insane" opening party , and Friday 24th May is the opening of "Pure Pacha". David Guetta opens F*** Me I'm Famous on Thursday 30th May

Sankys in Playa den Bossa opens on Thursday 23rd May with their "Third Dimension" night, with part 2 on Friday 24th May

The Ushuaia Tower - the new hotel in Ibiza for Summer 2013, opens on 23rd May

Es Paradis opening party is Friday 24th May

The Ushuaia Tower sister hotel Ushuaia Ibiza Beach Hotel opening party is on 25th May with Luciano & friends

Space opens on 26th May - limited VIP tables available at €1500 per person, Chemical Brothers & Groove Armada are playing DJ sets. Feliz Da Housecat, Bushwacka & 2 Many DJ's will also be there.

Ibiza Public Holidays (part one) - 5th August The public holiday in Ibiza on the 5 th August is celebrated every year and is known by a few names including: Santa Maria de las Nieves or Nuestra Senora de las Nieves (which translates as “Our Lady of the Snow”, which is interesting as there is not much snow in Ibiza!). August 24 - Patron Saints Day In San Antonio  24 th August is Patron Saints Day and each year the celebrations start from as early as the 18 th August (well this is Ibiza where every day is a celebration) and continue until early September. The Patron Saint of San Antonio is St Bartholomew. This main celebrations on the 24 th August start early at 8:30am, at 10:30am is a foam & water party (sorry children only). In the early evening after Mass is a procession through the streets, including the firecrackers to warn off evil spirits. The day culminates in fireworks at midnight – head to the mina square opposite the marina for the best vantage point. You can also expect to see some traditional dancing, and music ranging from rock to reggae. The celebrations date back to 1235 when the kingdom of Aragon took control of the island and introduced Christianity.
