Villas In South Ibiza
South Ibiza Villas
The south of Ibiza is, for many people, where it all happens. Hiring a holiday villa rental in South Ibiza allows you to be in the epicentre of one of the Worlds top holiday destinations.
The south of Ibiza includes Ibiza Town, the beach areas of Talamanca,
Playa den Bossa, Ses Salinas, Es Cavallet & Cala Jondal, and the
residential suburbs of Sa Carroca, Puig den Valls, Can Furnet & Can Pep Simo
as well as the village of & San Jordi
Ibiza Town (Eivissa) is the largest city in Ibiza and home
to the old medieval walled town of the Dalt Vila, a UNESCO world heritage site.
Ibiza Town in the summer is packed with restaurants in the narrow cobbled
streets, or around the squares of Parque Plaza, Plaza del Rey & Plaza de la
Constitucio.
Pacha nightclub, the longest established and most famous
club in Ibiza is located in Ibiza Town and is open all year round, in the
summer months the club is open every night and hosts some of the biggest names
in Electronic dance music (EDM). The other famous clubs are located outside of
Ibiza Town.
Ibiza has a proud gay heritage and hosts a Gay Pride event
each year. The street of Calle de la Virgen is a popular meeting point for the
LGBT community.
If you like shopping then you won’t be disappointed with a mix
if international brands and independent retailers. In the marina there are always
some huge boats moored up. For those of us that aren’t millionaires then you
can take the more modest and inexpensive ferry service to Formentera, or the water
taxi to Talamanca and Playa den Bossa.
Talamanca is a relaxed beach resort with a sandy beach,
about a 40 minute walk to the centre of Ibiza Town, There are a number of great
beach front restaurants, and there is a Stand-up paddle boars (SUP) school
& hire place. The areas around Talamanca, often referred to as Talamanca
Hills, but officially known as Can Pep Simo, Cap Martinet & Can Furnet is
home to some amazing villas, most with amazing views to the old town of Ibiza,
to the sea. & across to Formentera.
Playa den Bossa by contrast is probably the party capital
of Ibiza, An amazing 7 mile long sandy beach with beach clubs and bars. The beach
clubs include Ushuaia Beach Club, Nassau Beach Club and Hard Rock Beach Club, and
the bars include the (perhaps legendary?) Bora Bora. Playa den Bossa is also
home to Space nightclub which first started in Ibiza in 1989.
There are only a few villas walking distance to the beach,
bars, restaurants of Playa den Bossa, and many others are located in the residential
area behind Playa den Bossa known as Sa Carroca, about 3 kilometres from Playa den Bossa and Ibiza Town.
Two of the best beaches are close by at Ses Salinas & EsCavallet. Very few buildings and a protected nature reserve with a seafront of
sandy beaches and coves. There are 6 or 7 beach clubs & restaurants; Jockey Club,Sa Trinxa & El Chiringuito to name just 3
Cala Jondal is a large pebbly bay famous for being home to
some of the best beach clubs in Ibiza; Blue Marlin for a lively atmosphere &
Tropicana Beach Club for a more relaxed family friendly vibe.
On the edges of the south and heading towards the west and
halfway between Ibiza Town and the village of Sant Josep (San Jose) are the
restaurants of KM5 & Cova Santa.
However long you stay in Ibiza it won’t be long enough to do
everything you want to do, but we hope we have given you some ideas for getting
the most out of renting a villa in south Ibiza.
